I read this contemporary romance in the 90's, but it could be older. The girl moves from her hometown after her fiance dies, which she had foreseen. The guy's a not- friendly neighbour & a former soldier. There was one scene where they where arguing while finishhing each others' sentences. And, in another, the girl whacks a mugger by picking up moves from her neighbour's brain. At the end of the story, the girl gets hit by a car & becomes wheelchair-bound, but they get married. And, the guy becomes a writer. Any idea what book & author? Thanks in advance!

I read this book a long time ago so my details are a bit sketchy.
The hero is a pirate/privateer who somehow ends up meeting the heroine.
She doesn't know he's a pirate.
Something goes wrong between then and she starts impersonating him(as a
pirate) not knowing that its him.
One of then ends up captured and almost executed for piracy and the other
has to rescue them and they live happily ever after.
I know this isn't the best description but this was a long time ago and i
was pretty young at the time. Also remember the book binding was mostly
colored black.Hope you can help.

I read a book about 10 years ago and it was the first Harlequin Romance
novel I ever read. I have been looking for it for quite a while now but
just cannot remember what is was called or who wrote it. It was about a
woman who had a job as a courier or something. She had to deliver a
package to a man and when she got there she was kidnapped by the man
because he thought she was associated with a man who was blackmailing
his sister. I don't remember much more about it, but I keep thinking
that the name Darcy was on the book cover, don't know if it was in the
title or the author.

I'm looking for the title of a book. I believe it was a silhouette desire
because it had pretty frequent sex scenes. It had a columnist who lived in
San
Francisco who writes about her life in her daily column. She sees guy at
restaurant she always goes to and writes about him. He ends up talking to
her-she
wants to keep the mystery so she calls him "Sam". He takes her to Vegas,
and
a friends's house someplace on the coast. She falls for him and dumps him,
only to write that she loves him in the column for the paper. They reunite
at
the restaurant with avid readers of the column watching. Any ideas?

My sister and I are avid romance readers and we have shared frequently
over
the years. We always bring up the 'good ones' and enjoy recaping.
There is one in particular that we read about 6 years ago and it was
wonderful and funny. However, the only 2 characters we remember are the
girl named
Peaches and her pet monkey. Now this has to be the only story line out
there
like this. Someone please rememeber the title and/or author please.

A bit garbled and confused but I'll try. Heroine is trying to cut down a
tree and it falls on her. She's rescued by Hero who comes looking for
her. Thanks for helping (if you can!)

Read it in the mid to late 80's. It was a modern day romance and was
definitely over 200 pages. It's about a divorced woman who decides to
explore the Galapagos Islands after seeing an ad in a magazine. She ends
up falling in love with her tour guide. I vaguely remember some sort of
weather-related turmoil as well. It was definitely a major publisher. Help is appreciated!

A few (probably more than a few) years ago I read a Christmas story about a
couple who lived I think, in New York and were taking a trip to her sisters
for the holiday. On the way they were involved in a car wreck - I think
they got hit by a train. They died and went to heaven but could not get
into the pearly gates unless they finished up three tasks before Christmas.
This is all supposed to take place on Christmas Eve. I think it came out in
a small hardback and I have not been able to find it since we moved two
years ago, and believe me I have been looking! At the end of the story,
they had completed their tasks and were allowed to live and finish out their
lives. It was a wonderful story and I'm thinking that maybe Heather Graham
wrote it, but it could have been Nora Roberts, just don't remember. I do
remember a couple of the tasks they had to complete - one was guiding a
woman on her journey (maybe a nun) through death and something to do with a
blind woman and her husband? Thank you for any help you can give me.

I'd like to know the Title & the Author for a mills & boon / harlequin paperback I read possibly in late '80s. The girl has recently moved from another place to get away from memories of her fiance's death. She has premonitions. The guy is (perhaps) a retired soldier & her neighbour. She once held off a mugger by picking off fighting skills from his thoughts. There's one scene, where they have an argument, with each finishing off the others' sentences. The ending has the girl hit by a car & becoming wheelchair-bound & the guy becomes a writer. But, they are supposedly happily married. Does anyone know this story?

I read a book about 12 years ago which I belive was set in England. All I
remember from the book is a lady running away on her wedding day. She
escaped by climbing out the window and swinging down a tree in her wedding
dress. She then climbed into the trunk of a carriage that took her to a
different estate. I want to say she got a job there. The gentleman was
aroused by her and one scene involved them getting intimate by a stream,
possibly after she was thrown from a horse. Any help would be great!!

Hi, I'm trying to find a title to a book I read about 10 years ago, probably
'95-'97. The book is about a young female that is taken captive by an
Indian warrior. She's petite and feistly, he's big and stoic, they hate each
other, she tries to escape a bunch of times, etc. She might be the daughter
of a soldier, because search parties come after her. She's "rescued" long
after she's fallen for the Indian warrior, maybe even "married" in a Indian
marriage ceremony. (Something to do with an animal hide?) I think the cover
was mostly a teal color with feathers and had an inside photo of the warrior
and the woman. Can anyone help?
